'Tis the Season
Christmas is coming to a road side stand of trees near you! For years I have noticed the trees along Capital of Texas Highway being decorated anonymously by those that had some "Extra" Holiday Cheer they wanted to share.
This week I was delighted to see the trend has captured the hearts of some Cedar Park Locals who have also adorned a small stand of Cedar Trees along FM 1431 near the intersection of Parmer, just west of the Home Depot Store.
For a "transplant" who grew up in a northern clime, we were used to snow and ice all winter long especially around the holidays. So, it used to seem a bit odd to me to have sunny skies and warm weather around this time of year. It has taken some time (17years) for me to re-assimilate those old feelings of joy that were previously provoked by viewing colorful luminous displays peeking from roof lines and evergreens in combination with a blanket of fresh snow. But, this is a pretty site indeed! Now I have to admit, I really don't miss the snow and ice anymore and each time I pass something like this, especially when the sun is shinning with all the trimmings glittering and oscillating in the warm breeze, it is a Welcome Sight making my holidays seem just a little brighter!
