As Americans we owe our freedom and a debt of Gratitude to our many veterans who have made it possible. Especially on the anniversary of this historic day.
An ideal venue to stop by and pay homage to our vets who gave their all for our freedom 70 Years ago today is here in Cedar Park at Veteran's Memorial Park.
D-Day. It has been called the "Start of the End" of WWII however, the day took a heavy toll on American and Allied Service Men Claiming more than 4000 Lives, with estimates of serious other Casualties ranging around 10,000 in the 1st Day.
Many More Lives including those of our Allied Forces and the Enemy were lost in the Battle of Normandy leading up to the Allied Forces Liberation of Paris by the End of August 1944. D-Day and the battle of Normandy was a critical turning point which began to turn the tide against Germany. It was not until the following spring however on May 8th of 1945 that the Allies accepted the unconditional Surrender of Nazi Germany and the war was officially over.
