Cedar Park Library

The Cedar Park community offers so many wonderful programs and events. Many of them take place at the Cedar Park Public Library. In fact, there are some events and programs coming up soon that you may want to attend. The library is located at 550 Discovery Blvd., Cedar Park, TX 78613. All of these programs are open to the public and occur throughout the year.

  • Lapsit Storytime
If you have a child ages 1 - 15 months, this program is a great way to introduce them to the wonderful world of stories. The group meets every Thursday from 9:45 - 10:15 am in the Community Room. A librarian will read the book for the week and guide the children in song. There will be a few minutes for the babies to socialize at the end of every session.

Lapsit Storytime does not require pre-registration. Visitors are encouraged to check out some picture books to take home with them after each session.

  • Outdoor Storytime
What could be better than listening to a good story while surrounded by nature? That's exactly what you and your kids get to do during Outdoor Storytime. This program takes place on Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11:00 am. Participants gather on the library lawn to listen to the librarian read stories.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to sit on. The program is recommended for children ages 0 - 5, although older kids are welcome to attend, too.

  • Knit and Crochet Group
Maybe you're an experienced knitter, and you're looking to make new friends who share your passion for the hobby. Or perhaps you're just learning to crochet, and you could use some hands-on advice from more experienced crafters. All skill levels are welcome at the Knit and Crochet Group

This group meets in the Collaboration Room on Fridays between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Bring your own projects, and be prepared to give and receive helpful feedback.

  • Kids Open Chess Play
Have your kids expressed an interest in learning to play chess? It's important for them to practice playing against others with similar skill levels. Kids Open Chess Play at the Cedar Park Library offers those opportunities.

All kids ages 17 and younger are welcome to attend open chess play. It takes place on Sundays at 1:30 pm. Kids can play a few games or watch more experienced players strategize.

  • Grab-and-Go Crafts
If you've been wanting to do more crafting but have been struggling to find inspiration, why not pick up a Grab-and-Go Craft from the Cedar Park Library? The library offers a new and different craft every month. The kit includes everything you need to make it, plus easy-to-follow instructions.

When you get to the library, head to the information desk to pick up your craft. They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Previous crafts include watercolor notebooks and nature journals. In addition to crafts for adults, the library also offers grab-and-go craft kits for teens and school-age children.

The Cedar Park Library is always adding new programs and events to its lineup, so keep an eye on the website for other opportunities. If you're still in the process of moving, contact us soon. Our real estate agents can guide you through the process and help you find the perfect place.
