Austin Area

Greater Austin is the place to be. With one of the most unique cultures of any metropolitan area, friendly people, and one of the best bar and restaurant scenes around, it's not hard to see why. Few states are seeing population growth quite like Texas. The state's population just exceeded 30 million for the first time this past July. Many of the new residents coming in from out of state are settling down in the Austin area. It's actually one of the hottest real estate markets today.

Our real estate agents are always telling clients about the amazing benefits of living in the Austin area; however, the area really sells itself. It has a little bit of everything, and you'd have a difficult time finding an appealing place to live. Here are the top 5 reasons why people continue to move here year after year.

  1. The Weather
One of the best things about the weather in our part of Texas is it allows for nearly year-round outdoor activities. Winter high temperatures around Austin typically hover between 60 and 70 degrees, and low temperatures don't drop below freezing very often. While it does get hot in the summer, the Colorado River and Lake Travis present ample opportunities to cool off and swim. Humidity is low in the spring and fall, which makes these seasons absolutely beautiful.

  2. The Art
Austin's art scene is unlike anything you've experienced. With tons of art galleries, amazing murals, and some of the coolest coffee shops and music venues, this city has such a unique vibe. Not to mention the South by Southwest festival happens here every March and draws hundreds of thousands of people to the city. There are also tons of museums and exhibits not far from these Cedar Park homes for sale including the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden, the Thinkery, and the Blanton Museum of Art.

  3. The Job Market
The Austin area continues to be one of the hottest job markets in the US. Several tech companies maintain a large presence in Austin, and new start-ups are emerging every year. Many of these offices are just a short commute from Cedar Park and surrounding areas. Plus, the area has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, and the average salary is about $1,500 higher than the national average. It's a great place to find a job.

  4. There Is No Income Tax
To help maintain an affordable cost of living, Texas is one of only seven states that doesn't require citizens to pay taxes on their income. State revenue is primarily derived from sales tax and property taxes. This means more money in your paycheck!

  5. An Unbelievable Food Scene
Everything is bigger in Texas, including the food portions at most restaurants. The food culture in the Austin area is second to none. While the city is primarily known for its barbecue, tacos, and Tex-Mex cuisine; however, as local diversity continues to increase, the local food scene continues to evolve. No matter what type of food you love, you can find the very best around Austin.
